Mom Knows Best… a lot of the time.
You know what’s crazy?? How much sense my mom can make at times….
I called her this morning in hopes of her helping me make some sense of my crazy life. She could tell I was stressing out and while in mid ramble, she stopped me.
She interrupted with —
“Michael, listen. Life is short. Don’t be afraid of being wrong. Just live.”
(I might have butchered that a bit, but you get the general idea)
Now I do know that when she says ‘don’t be afraid of being wrong’ she’s not sitting there encouraging me to make huge mistakes in life. She’s simply telling me to stop the stress slash over-analyzing (which I’ll admit, many girls are guilty of) I tend to bring to many situations I’m put in. Here’s the issue… when you face several situations with stress or over analyzing, you often lose the joy that could potentially come of it.
So there’s that. My new outlook… you live once, no need to fill it with such stress. Enjoy it :)
Oh and thanks mama doz. I always knew you were a smart lady.
Trimming the Fat
Due to the fact that today marks my last first day of class (victory half lap here I come)… I’ve decided it’s also the first day I will begin trimming the fat in my life. Now when I say that, I don’t mean it literally… well maybe a little (Colvin here I come as well), but I mean it in the way that I need to cut out all the negative, bad, scary, sad, (basically anything that’s not a positive influence) in my life. You know why?? because life’s too dang short and we gotta live it up.
Doing this last semester right.
K I’m done.
Tweet of Truth
Saw a tweet today stating…
“Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness.”
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
The Art of Advice
Do you ever find yourself giving others some of the best life advice… yet when it comes down to it, you’re the one needing it most? Oh and you’re completely failing to actually follow the advice you’re giving these other people in your own situations…. Good, me neither.
